Introduction
Sheba University College (SUC), founded in October 2001 in Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia, began as a small institution offering diploma programs in computer science, accounting, and management. Since then, it has expanded significantly, now offering TVET, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs in various fields through regular, extension, and distance modalities.

SUC has also established sister institutions, Sheba Academy and Honor Academy, providing education from kindergarten to high school.

Vision and Mission
SUC aims to be a leading center of excellence in Ethiopia, providing high-quality, relevant education and training to produce competent, internationally-aware graduates who can contribute to poverty reduction. Its mission focuses on delivering market-driven education, maximizing stakeholder involvement, and providing accessible training.

Objectives and Goals
SUC’s objectives include expanding academic units, producing skilled graduates, fostering research, offering community services, and supporting disadvantaged students. Specific goals for the next five years include becoming a full-fledged university, expanding TVET programs, increasing student intake, establishing new branches, and enhancing facilities and programs, including health sciences and early childhood education.

SUC is committed to responsibility, leadership, quality, transparency, and discipline in its operations. It emphasizes respect for students and stakeholders, continuous improvement, and adherence to ethical standards.

Academic Facilities
SUC operates from a five-story building in Mekelle and additional buildings in Aksum. It has developed extensive facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and administrative offices. The institution also runs distance programs in multiple locations.

Faculties and Programs
SUC comprises five faculties: Business and Economics, Informatics, Health Sciences, Engineering, and Distance Education. It offers a range of undergraduate, TVET, and postgraduate programs across various disciplines.

Curricula and Admission
SUC prepares its own curricula for degree programs, approved by the Ministry of Education. TVET curricula are provided by the Ministry’s TVET Agency. Admission requirements vary by program, including standardized exams and qualifications.

Staff and Students
The college invests in staff development and hires qualified instructors from various universities. SUC has a diverse academic staff and provides market-oriented training to reduce youth unemployment.

Financials and Facilities
SUC funds its activities primarily through student tuition. It maintains a robust financial management system, including internal and external audits. The college has well-equipped laboratories, classrooms, and a library with extensive resources.

Future Plans
SUC plans to expand its programs and facilities, aiming to upgrade to a university level and enhance its technology and vocational training sectors.
